USE THE FORCE..

Young Gunz do the NETS anthem? How do you think Philly feels about this?

In other Philly sports news, Fuck TO.

I had heard the rumors over the weekend of Green Lantern peacing out from Shady, and allhiphop pretty much confirms it. The infamous DVD is called The Come Up--brought to you by Cutrashter C and the good people at Dirty Money.

Even though the Damian Marley joint 'Welcome To Jamrock' is still flooding the streets, the B-Side, 'Lyrical 44' features Meth and Red--and its kinda aight. My other reggae joint du jour is I-Wayne's 'Cant Satisfy Her', so snack on that!

Even though the joint is everywhere by now. Here it is once more, Diamonds with my little 2-cents included. Now the joint is hot for sure, but how can dude go all out throw out a cut from his album due in the summer time without letting Com get his little shine? That album hasn't even hit the streets yet, and already we're getting there's some "I can do one better" type of thing.

MY MONEY GETS JEALOUS

Ok..So, I just got off the phone with a mixtape websites I do business with (who will remain anonymous at this point). He goes on to tell me that he had been set-up by someone posing as an interested "wholesaler" for mix cds. Now, the switch begins...the wholesaler you are dealing with turns out to be an agent from this company, GrayZone Inc. GrayZone describes themselves as " a professional consulting firm that provides investigative, paralegal and research services to members of the entertainment community." Really all they are is some mark-ass snitches for the RIAA, and here's the proof. I'd like to hear peoples thoughts on this whole thing.

NOW BACK TO BUSINESS...

Ya never know how many people check this til i get hate emails like "ya blog is fallin off", or "why you aint update your site?" So im rejuvanated..now its time to get that New York Times linkage (as Ian threw down so effortlessly).

This dude got alot of vintage DS nike's going on here. I need these ones, for the summer..but now that the cat is out of the bag someone might grab'em up for the $300 buy now. (atleast send me the pics of them on your feet)

I'VE BEEN THINKING ITS FRIDAY ALL DAY

Ya know, this blog shit is like whatever. I check ALOT of blogs daily, and I mean maybe its me, but my shit looks like vomit--half the time i'm all over the place--I don't show link love like i should, I dont blogvertise, and I definitely don't serve up any deep thought out shit-fuckit, I don't even write well! In any case, I guess people obviously check it though (even though no one comments) I guess i'm just on that 4am, why did i go through a pack of cigarettes in a day type shit right now..It is what it is, and fuckit imma stick with it cause it can only get bigger...and in continuation with the Wu undertone this shit was created under imma go out and say it..I'm the ODB of this shit--cause there is noo father to my style..

Dirty Money Records (Cutmaster C, The Come Up DVD) continue to push BK's own Gravy. The new street cd titled, "Without a Doubt" is basically is 20 plus freestyles over all BIG and JAY beats...but it doesnt stop there!! The entire artwork (doublesided 4-panels) is Gravy jacking the Reasonable Doubt Cover down to the same hat, pinstriped suit, cigar in his mouth. The inside has Gravy's grill, in his best Ready To Die pose. They kid must have a deal with WB already cause the logo is all over this piece, plus Kevin Liles is credited as executive producer--since when do people put credits on a mixtape I can't wait to see if this is embraced or rejected. Here's some joints to make your own call.

Vida Guerra becomes the next celeb to fall vic to amateur porn hacking..enjoy.

..speaking of which what does hoefax have in store for us?

For the New Yorkers, go in this piece Lil Jon and AOL Music Live join forces as he rocks out Webster Hall tonight at 9pm. The concert is free i believe, but will also be webcasted here. So, if your looking to get geeked up on crunk-juice and wild out with Jonathan Smith here's how its goin down...Doors open at 7pm, but close at 8:30 SHARP! Webster Hall is located at 125 E. 11th street between 3rd and 4th Ave (i believe)

Imma try to be in the building so look for the dude with the Lil Jon clip-on dreads and some grillz made out of Rolo chocolates foil.

Imma keep it in the "A" for a quick minute and throw two joints atcha..The first one, "Your Gonna Love Me",by Back Wudz is on the older tip but it is definitely flame-on, (If you caught either Be South or the Drama ioint--Weezy destroys it). The other is the new Youngbloodz joint, "Everyone Know Me" where the hook chops up the Willie D's classic line "I make big money, I drive big cars/ Everybody know me, it’s like I’m a movie star".

Iron Mike is baaa-aaack.

Who runs New Jerz? Jump Off Buddens has a thing or two to say about it..

Fuckit, im not holding back at all--i slacked enough last week. So here's Kayslay "The Mixtape Maniac's" ultimate posse cut. "Rollin 25 Deep",is the 'who's next?' of new mcs..at 8 minutes long, 25 of the dopest up-and-comers (i'm not naming them, all get your game up) at 8 bars a piece..imma get on some down south shit like this..producers holla with that heat!

Chris at Lemon-Red got the ills as of late, although the posts talks about losing his readers--he just gained one with his Deadwood episode breakdown.

Dubya's ipod playlist (NYTIMES-for the non-subscribers peep the cnn version)

Lastly, has anyone caught the commerical for Dannon's Frusion drink commercials?? It's sad to see Joe Clair aka Joe Cleezy aka The Mayor of Rap City dancing and singing like that. Can't someone get this man a job?? Maybe some radio somewhere, throw him on a skit (think OGC) fuckit throw the dude a UPN sitcom if he's into acting, anythign is better than that damn commerical! (Speaking of which, whatever happened to Big Lez??)

"Painting the day with focus, grind, broads, and good wine--they say dope is sour so its homework and hood crimes"

I am officially co-signing the Common cd!!! 11-tracks, no interludes, no intro, no filler, just heat...It seem's to be all about the 2nd letter now--Be South 2, this album, Bread and Butter..i mean if people aren't up on all of these at this point..

With Common's album dropping soon (pushed up release date, im sure), Bump J buzzing heavy, is Sani G the next to blow? His joint, "Pussy" with Devin tha Dude is the cut. Shit, anything can happen now even the Bulls are in the playoffs.

"Even Fat Joe was forced to cop plea's"

A day late or a dollar short, anyway-this is might be last week's news, but my man Opus over at trick breaks down the new BETxDame TV series spotted here.

KIDS GOTTA EAT!!

"I'ts been a long time since i left you, without a dope rhyme to step to"

Maaan, i been off my B-L-O-G, with the warm weather--so excuse the delays,. Plus i got the cd out there around the city. Sites are starting to show love, trust..the masses need this.

I'm gonna be all over today, so bare with me..first and foremost..fuck Time-Warner cable! The DVR box i pay way too much for is a piece of shit, but thats just the tip of it. Although, i don't know the specifics of it--Time Warner and MSG are in some sort of pissing match, and it ultimately results in the Blacking-Out of a shitload of both Knicks, and Mets games. (Not that i really want to see the Mets play right now), but it will be a long-ass summer if this shit doesnt end soon. This site has been launched to 'provide a voice for New York sports fans' so play your part!

In continuation with my little UK hip-hop phase, I wanted to go check out this kid Sway Dasafo, but i missed out on this joint last night, but I did get my hands on the new mix cd, and im excited to chop through--and get some audio up. (plus i heard a banger Mark Ronson did for him--that audio WILL NOT be thrown up though) Word is, dude is gonna rock out the EVR show on Friday with Fader ot Catchdeisel--whoever does that show.

" The rhymes you spit can embarrass the city/while my game bags dames like Paris and Niki "

Shawn Kemp loves his weed and coke. Word is dude got bagged a couple of days ago, and guess the team didn't see the warning signs. If he isn't blown in this picture, I can't call it. Damn, anyone have the Ras Kass freestyle from Stretch and Bob, where he said somethign like "Everywhere I go, I move with a 40 on my chest like Shawn Kemp"--classic !

TAKE IT LIGHT..

I'm almost home with the BS2 joint dropping this week--In the meantime, to hold you down go peep these othere heaters out there..

The Aphilliates top-dog slash 'gangsta grillz general' throws down with his 'ode to weezy'.
(COVER ART IS KILLING IT)

While, the mixtape mechanic does it big with the sequel to the What it Dew joint. .Matt spotted it..i copped it..and here it is..cause thats how real shit is at Cuban Links.
( I NEED THESE TEE'S IN MY LIFE FOR THE SUMMER COLLECTION!)

2 For 5's
Marc 4- Distortion Mind (Fat Joe-Safe To Say)
New Birth-Wild Flower (Fat Joe-Prove Something)

Allhiphop's rumors section, drops a little blurb about Jay-Z/XM Radio beef stirring up, and the root of the problem seems to be this "Biter/Writer" track. I know this made its way around the scene already, but i came across it on my man Rondevu's joint. Shit is hot though--so cop it.

On the late tip, SOHH caught up with Mike Jones and shot down the quick Q&A. , plus they tried to pull the April's fools joke of the day, but they couldn't top this.
(BONUS AUDIO: Mike Jones and Kayslay chop it up with Saigon in the studio)

So, opening day really begins today with Pedro, (Eazy-E jherri curl and all) taking the mound facing off against ex-Met Paul Wilson. The game begins at 2:10 and can be seen on ESPN or listened to here.

Tonight is also the NCAA championship. Although I predicted a Louisville/UNC final, I'm still sticking with my guns that the 'heels, Sean May, and Roy Williams will be cutting the nets down tonight.

Michael Strahan put on blast. (NY POST)

David Bowie-Bring Me The Disco King (Breathe Through The Years)
Fantastic Four - My Love Wont Stop At Nothing (No Idea)
Kenny Rogers - Lady (True Story)

I was really trying to save all my interviews with up-and-coming producers for a specific week, where i would showcase one a day for the whole week. But i'm too tired, hungover, and just not into really scrambling around for news so enjooooy.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with one of the iller up-and coming producers in the game, Vin The Chin. Vin, along with Scram Jones make up the label/prodcution team, Beast Music Inc. With serious movements on the way, here's how it went down.

So Vin, tell us how long you been in the producing game for?
Been producing for about 10 years. Started landing joints about fours years ago.

You recently did the banger "Cuts From Nore", describe how that situation went down.
Nore asked me to make him a beat with scratches in it. I came to him with the joint and he loved it.

What kind of equiptment to you use to produce?
Top secret. Jus kiddin. I use alot of different shit. I got a mpc 2000, sp 1200, some sound modules wit a midi controller and alot of computer software.

Who are some of your influences as a producer?

Saigon, Saigon, and Saigon. I did a joint for him awhile back called "Papi (35 a Gram)" which was real crazy, and i knew he would blow from then. Honestly, I dont think any of the new cats coming up fucking with him, plus I havent heard anything from any of these new cats that grabs me.

What is some advice you can give to the kid who is trying to get into the producing game?
Not just anyone can get into it. First off, you got to have a love for music. It aint about the money to the true music heads. I work a 9 to 5 and hustle this music shit, but to be honest, even if I dont make any paper off the music it aint gonna make or break me cause at the end of the day I love doing it.

With out-of-town rap dominating the airwaves everywhere, how do you feel about the state of NY hip hop?
I happen to like out-of-town rap. We in NY just need to make records that's better than their's. Thats exactly what they did, and I aint mad at them.
